Wearing your retainer nightly is essential for keeping your smile beautifully aligned for a lifetime, and with our safe teeth whitening options, you can ensure it stays bright and confident, too!

Protect your new smile with these essential retainer care guidelines:

Wear Every Night:
- Wear your retainers nightly (only at night unless otherwise instructed).
Clean Regularly:
- Brush your retainers with toothpaste, a toothbrush, and cold water.
- For extra cleanliness, soak them in denture cleaner and cold water. Never boil your retainers.
Keep Away from Pets:
- Store retainers safely in a drawer or case, as pets may chew through cases.
Floss with Permanent Retainers:
- Floss every night under your permanent retainer. If it detaches, wear your clear retainer and save the permanent one for replacement.
Handle with Care:
- Retainers are costly to replace, so take good care of them!
Bring to Appointments:
- Always bring your retainers to follow-up visits.

Teeth Whitening

Ready to brighten your smile? Follow these simple steps and tips for safe, effective teeth whitening with your aligner or retainer. Here’s what to keep in mind for the best results and to reduce any potential discomfort:

Apply a Small Amount of Bleach:
- Attach the triangular tip to the bleach tube and add a tiny amount (pinhead-sized) to each tooth compartment.
Insert and Clean Excess Bleach:
- Place your aligner or retainer on your teeth, and use a Q-tip to wipe away any excess bleach to prevent gum irritation.
Adjust Bleaching Duration:
- Begin with 2 hours per day. If no sensitivity occurs, you can gradually increase your time. Avoid sleeping with bleach in your retainer initially to minimize sensitivity.
Manage Sensitivity & Avoid Staining:
- Sensitivity is normal; try Sensodyne toothpaste for relief. Avoid dark beverages like coffee or tea, or use a straw to limit contact with your teeth.
Recommended Bleaching Cycle:
- Most people bleach daily for 2 hours over a two-week period.
Store Bleach in the Fridge:
- Refrigerating your bleach will keep it fresh longer.
